It supports a responsible, secure, and human-first approach to AI adoption by connecting employees, faculty, students, leaders, and teams with trusted information and practical support in one place.

As AI reshapes how people learn, teach, work, create, and solve problems, George Brown is taking an intentional approach that keeps people, purpose, ethics, accessibility, and accountability at the centre of this work.

Through clear guidance, practical resources, learning opportunities, and co-ordinated communication, the AI Centre of Excellence supports the George Brown community in building confidence, making informed decisions, and moving from exploration to responsible implementation. It is designed to advance thoughtful experimentation, strengthen institutional readiness, and ensure AI is used in ways that enhance learning, work, and service.

Learning resources for responsible AI use

AI learning, training, and resources support the George Brown Polytechnic community in building the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to engage with AI responsibly and effectively. This section brings together foundational AI learning, plain-language definitions, training opportunities, teaching and learning resources, library guidance, copyright and citation support, and more.

Whether users are new to AI, exploring tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT, integrating AI into teaching and learning, supporting students, or pursuing professional development, this section provides clear pathways to trusted resources and learning opportunities.

The goal is to support shared AI literacy across the polytechnic while keeping people, ethics, privacy, accessibility, academic integrity, critical thinking, and responsible use at the centre. • Technical skills: At least a basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, programming languages, data analysis, and cybersecurity will be crucial no matter which industry students enter.
